A vintage rectangular storage chest or tool box, constructed from wood with a black-painted exterior finish. The chest features a hinged lid secured by two brass-toned metal hinges, with a raised wooden rim around the top surface. The front of the box is fitted with two metal hasps. The interior is lined with the remnants of a red flocked or velvet material. There are no visible maker’s marks, stamps, or labels on the item.
