A rustic provincial one-door storage cupboard or food armoire constructed from heavy, hand-hewn planks of a light-toned hardwood, possibly oak or elm. The piece features a vernacular design with visible pegged joinery and a protruding rounded cornice rail at the top. The single door is mounted on two large wrought iron strap-style hinges and is fitted with a simple iron pull ring and latch mechanism. The interior is currently open and lacks shelving, although internal vertical supports are visible. The unit is supported by a simple plinth base with a rounded, scroll-shaped foot at the front corner. A small white rectangular adhesive label is attached to the top front rail, but the text is not clearly legible from the primary image. No other maker’s marks, stamps, or signatures are visible on the exterior surfaces.
