This Victorian spoon back side chair is constructed from mahogany and materials 16. The chair features a characteristic waisted balloon back form with a dark polished hardwood frame. The backrest is upholstered with deep buttoned velvet in a taupe tone, which extends to the plain serpentine fronted seat. The upholstery is finished with a coordinating textile gimp trim. The chair is supported on two carved cabriole front legs with scrolling detail at the knees and two splayed rear legs. No maker marks, labels, or stamps are visible on the piece.
