A large, professionally framed British Admiralty hydrographic survey chart of Vila Harbour on the island of Efate in the New Hebrides, now known as Vanuatu. The chart, numbered 1493, provides a detailed bathymetric and topographic survey of the area with soundings indicated in metres. The main title block at the top left includes an official crest and specifies a scale of 1:7,500. Key geographic locations and landmarks are clearly labelled throughout the chart, including the town of Vila, Ifira Island, Iririki Island, Pontoon Bay, and Paray Bay. A large compass rose is positioned on the left side of the chart. The text "DEPTHS IN METRES" is printed in red ink at the top centre. The chart is mounted flat behind glass and presented in a dark wooden frame featuring a gold-tone inner slip.
