A trio of studio pottery vases of graduated sizes, constructed from a light buff-coloured ceramic body with prominent dark speckling, likely stoneware. Each vessel is of a tapered cylindrical form with a wide, open rim. The exterior surfaces are decorated with bold, incised sgraffito designs in a dark brown pigment. These motifs are abstract and primitive in style, featuring linear figures and bird-like forms that wrap around the circumference of each vase. The coarse, pitted texture of the clay body is an intentional decorative feature. No maker’s marks, signatures, or factory stamps are visible on the exterior surfaces.
Approximate heights: 25cm to 45cm.
