A mid-century wooden jewellery or collector’s chest designed in the Spanish Revival style, resembling a miniature sideboard. Constructed from a stained light-coloured wood, possibly pine, the piece features a rectangular top with an overhanging edge positioned above a central section of two drawers, which are flanked by two side panels with recessed moulding. The lower drawer is shown to be lined with yellow felt. The chest is fitted with four decorative cast metal drop-pull handles. While visually consistent with items produced by manufacturers such as Mele in Japan during the mid-20th century, no maker’s marks or stamps are visible to confirm a specific attribution, though a partially illegible white label remains on the top surface.
