In the style of an Egyptian water pipe, this decorative hookah comprises a stepped, bulbous glass base of cobalt blue colour with an iridescent lustre finish and horizontal metallic banding. The assembly includes a central gold-toned metal stem supporting a circular metal tray. A flexible hose is attached, wrapped in a red and gold spiral-patterned fabric cord, and fitted with a turned wooden handle and mouthpiece. The design is characteristic of late 20th-century functional or decorative apparatus. No factory or maker’s marks are present on the body.
