A pair of Royal Mail First Day Covers commemorating the 50th anniversary of the D-Day landings. Each cover bears a complete set of five 25p stamps, Stanley Gibbons numbers 1820 to 1824, featuring scenes of Allied military operations. The first cover is type-addressed and features three circular date stamp cancellations from the Philatelic Bureau Edinburgh dated 6 June 1994. The second cover is hand-addressed and features three circular date stamp cancellations for the Bournemouth and Poole First Day of Issue dated 6 Jun 1994. Both covers include a printed cachet illustrating the SHAEF flaming sword insignia and Allied ensigns.
