Buyer's Premium:

A late 19th-century figurative mantel clock, likely of European origin and typical of the Victorian period. The clock features a gilt metal case and figures, possibly composed of spelter. The central drum-shaped clock housing is flanked by two cast figures depicting a boy and girl in stylised rustic period attire. These elements are mounted on a white marble or onyx plinth, which is set upon a larger, ornate gilt metal base. This base is decorated with classical motifs, including a central lyre flanked by foliate scrolls. The top of the clock housing is finished with a gilt metal crest of leaves and scrolls. The circular white enamel dial features black Roman numeral hour markers and a railroad-style outer minute track, with ornate black filigree metal hands. The dial is enclosed by a beaded gilt metal bezel. A single winding hole is positioned at the 6 o’clock mark, suggesting a time-only mechanical movement without a strike or chime mechanism. A brass winding key is present on the base.
