A pair of earthenware vessels featuring a matching floral design. The larger item is a bulbous wash pitcher with a lobed body, a flaring scalloped rim, and a scrolled foliate-style handle. The base is finished with a moulded basketweave border. The smaller vessel is a squat, ovoid jar or vase with a corresponding scalloped rim. Both pieces are decorated with polychrome floral transfer-ware sprays depicting yellow, pink, and white roses with green foliage. The transfers are applied to the body of both items and the interior and exterior of the pitcher’s rim. No maker’s marks or backstamps are visible on the exterior or bases shown.
