A circular cast iron wall plaque for the Scots Guards, a regiment of the British Army. The plaque features a heavy cast construction with a raised border and central emblem, finished in an enamelled paint scheme. The outer dark blue border is decorated with raised gilt lettering reading HM ARMED FORCES at the top and SCOTS GUARDS at the bottom.
The central design depicts the Star of the Order of the Thistle in white and silver tones, set against a cross-shaped background of red and blue. The centre of the star contains a circular medallion with a green border bearing the raised Latin motto of the Order of the Thistle, NEMO ME IMPUNE LACESSIT (No one provokes me with impunity), surrounding a central thistle head. The plaque includes two pre-drilled mounting holes located at the 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock positions.
