A Victorian style two seater parlour settee or loveseat constructed from dark stained mahogany. The frame features an openwork balloon back with decorative scrolled cresting and central foliate carvings. The backrest is divided into two distinct padded panels featuring deep button tufting. The curved armrests are fitted with padded arm pads and terminate in scrolled grips, supported by curved uprights. The piece is raised on cabriole front legs with further scrolled detailing and out swept rear legs. The upholstery is a light champagne coloured velvet, applied to the backrests, arm pads, and a broad rounded seat. The upholstery is finished throughout with a matching braided cord trim. No maker’s marks, labels, or stamps are visible on the exterior of the frame.
