This collection of O gauge tinplate model railway items was manufactured by Hornby (Meccano Ltd, Liverpool). The group includes two 0-4-0 clockwork tank locomotives; one finished in black LMS livery with the number 2270 and the other in plain black, accompanied by a separate black LMS tender with crest. The rolling stock consists of a silver National petrol tanker with yellow lettering, a reddish-brown No. 1 Goods Van marked E 22604 with a light grey roof, an open wagon in reddish-brown, a green and grey low-sided wagon, and a flat wagon carrying three red cylinders. The assortment further comprises a quantity of curved and straight tinplate track sections, a buffer stop, and two level crossings featuring green bases, white picket gates, and lithographed landscape detailing. A small plastic container of metal fishplates and track pins is also included. The items are constructed from lithographed and painted tinplate. The locomotives feature clockwork mechanisms with winding holes to the boiler casings.
