A large decorative maritime-themed figure of a Great Cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo) depicted in a naturalistic pose. The bird is positioned atop a weathered wooden mooring post or piling. The piece is constructed from a hand-painted composite material, moulded to replicate the texture of feathers and the grain of aged timber. The plumage is finished in shades of dark brown and black, accented with a characteristic white throat patch and a yellow-based bill. The base is modelled as two separate pilings of varying heights, bound with simulated rope and featuring a rusted chain detail. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible.
Height: Approximately 55 cm.
