A mid-20th-century monocular compound microscope featuring a black-finished cast metal frame with chrome-plated brass components. The instrument is equipped with a drawtube, a coarse-focus rack and pinion adjustment, and a fine-focus knob. It includes a circular stage fitted with two metal slide clips and a substage aperture. Illumination is provided by a plano-concave mirror on a gimbal mount. The microscope is housed in a rectangular light-wood carrying case, finished with a clear varnish and fitted with a black top handle and brass-toned hinges. The interior of the case is lined with black flocking. A green translucent plastic accessory container, containing additional objective lenses, and a black rectangular mounting plate are attached to the interior of the door.
