The instrument is constructed with a black enamelled cast metal frame and features a triple revolving nosepiece currently fitted with one objective lens. It includes a square stage, sub-stage assembly, and dual knobs for coarse and fine focus adjustment. This model is equipped for electrical illumination, featuring an attached power cable and a separate bulb assembly. The microscope is housed in its original fitted hardwood transit case, which is lined with green felt and includes wooden bracing. The case features a hinged front door with a metal latch and a leather carrying handle. The base of the instrument bears a metal plate inscribed MADE BY COOKE TROUGHTON and SIMMS LTD.
