A vintage rectangular paraffin or oil can manufactured by the Valor Company, Birmingham. The vessel is constructed from pressed metal with a painted green finish. It features a fixed flat-strap handle extending from the side to the top surface. The top includes a threaded filler neck with its original screw-on cap and a fixed, curved pouring spout terminating in a small protective cap. The front recessed panel features the manufacturer’s name, VALOR, embossed vertically in large capital letters. This style of container was a staple of mid-20th-century British domestic and automotive utility, typically used for the storage and dispensing of paraffin or motor oil.
