This 19th-century Victorian barrel-front chest of drawers is constructed from solid pine with a warm, honey-toned finish. The piece features a prominent rounded barrel-front upper section, which serves as a deep storage compartment. The lower section of the carcass is fitted with drawers. The upper compartment is accessed via a single ornate cast-metal ring pull with a twisted design, while the lower drawers are finished with turned wooden knobs. The construction exhibits the characteristic wide grain and natural knots associated with British country furniture from the late Victorian period. No maker marks, stamps, or labels are visible.
