This lot consists of two distinct artworks of differing styles and subjects. The first is a naive-style oil painting, likely on board, depicting a male artisan in a dark interior. The figure is shown in profile, wearing a waistcoat and blue sleeves, intently working on a large glass demijohn encased in wicker. The second artwork is a landscape-oriented piece, possibly a gouache or hand-coloured lithograph, depicting a classical mythological scene. This composition features a central winged putto or Cupid amongst several female figures in a wooded landscape. The naive painting is housed in a simple black-painted wooden frame. The mythological scene is presented in a distressed gilt-composition frame with foliate corner mouldings. No signatures or inscriptions are visible on either piece.
