A George III style mahogany slant-front bureau, likely a mid-to-late 20th-century reproduction. The fall front opens to reveal a fitted interior with multiple vertical pigeonhole compartments featuring arched tops and a small central drawer with a green-toned pull knob. The writing surface is inset with a dark brown leather scriber with remnants of a gold-tooled border. The bureau is raised on four cabriole legs terminating in ball-and-claw feet. It is constructed from mahogany and mahogany veneers with lighter secondary timber components used for the interior fittings. Hardware consists of brass butterfly hinges and a central brass lock plate. No maker’s marks, stamps, or labels are visible on the piece. A small white adhesive price tag on the upper right side bears the handwritten characters £35.00.
