A large, heavy-walled stoneware planter featuring a tapered body and a wide, thick, flared rim. The exterior surface displays prominent horizontal throwing lines, indicating the vessel was formed on a potter’s wheel. The planter is finished in a mottled tan or honey-yellow glaze with dark iron-rich speckles throughout. The decoration consists of a hand-rendered foliate motif comprising three leaves on a stem; two of the leaves are filled with dark brown slip and accented with cream-coloured sgraffito details, while a third leaf remains as a simple incised outline. This design is consistent with the Folk Art pattern produced by Pfaltzgraff for FTDA during the 1980s. No maker’s marks, backstamps, or signatures are visible.
