Buyer's Premium:

This late Victorian furniture piece, likely a washstand or small chest of drawers, is constructed from a stained hardwood, possibly mahogany. The top features an inset gallery consisting of five ceramic tiles decorated in the Aesthetic Movement style. The central tile depicts a classical urn filled with flowers and foliage, while the flanking tiles feature transfer-printed botanical motifs of scrolling leaves and berries. The drawers in the lower section are fitted with turned wooden knobs. The construction and decorative elements are characteristic of late 19th-century manufacture. No maker’s marks or retailer labels are visible on the exterior of the piece or the faces of the tiles.
